And though there is cause for concern, he said, it's important to note that the overwhelming majority of America's nearly 1 million poll workers are dedicated patriots without an ulterior motive. But with misinformation running rampant in certain corners, officials worry some poll workers may try to interfere with the voting process this fall. America relies on hundreds of thousands of temporary workers to staff the polls during elections.
